Some of the most interesting choices for gooseneck floor lamps I have seen are those made by Adesso. They are not the cheapest lamps available, but if you are looking for mood lighting that is also functional you may be interested in some of their lamps. Gooseneck floor lamps can be used to not only provide light, but also to highlight objects in a room or add ambiance lighting to the overall room, especially the more decorative types of lamps.
A simple gooseneck floor lamp with a teardrop shaped shade will cost anywhere from around $100 on up, depending on the size of the lamp. They have a great selection of LED lamps as well as those using conventional light bulbs. If you want something that is a little more unusual, the Adesso Pompom lamp with its six adjustable goosenecks may be of interest. Each of the six necks end with a small pompom lamp shade that uses a 25w bulb. With a handy foot step switch, it is very easy to turn on and off and it really does add a unique touch to a room. In a slightly different style, the Adesso Times Square floor lamp has five larger shades attached to the top of the pole, each with the ability to twist and turn any direction.
For something slightly different, the Adesso Combo floor lamp has a glass shade on the top and an attached gooseneck reading lamp that juts off the side of the main pole. This is great to set beside a reading chair in a living room. The additional lighting provided by the attached gooseneck lamp is perfect for when you want to sit and relax in the living room and read.
They also have a selection of gooseneck fluorescent floor lamps. This is quite a bit brighter than many of their other floor lamps, ideal for your home office or even your bedroom, placed beside your writing desk.
While Adesso floor lamps may be a little more expensive than some other brands, they do provide quality workmanship and you can usually rest assured that the base of the lamp is weighty enough to provide stability for the lamp. Some other cheaper, or no-name brand lamps can actually be fairly unstable to the point that if you try to stretch the gooseneck out or down too far the entire lamp is in danger of tilting over.
