Stay Connected with an iPad Docking Station

The iPad is not a fully functional computer. It is rather a compliment to your main computer, and works in much the same way as an iPhone to synchronize with your computer. Using iTunes you can keep your gadget in sync with your contacts, playlists and movies that you hold on your main computer. This works in the way that Apple believe that the Mac computer should act as the hub of the family computing experience. In this way your PC is the mother ship, and every so often your need to dock it to refuel.

The ipad docking station serves the syncing up of your device, but also enables you to charge it and depending which ipad dock you go for, it also enables you to connect a full sized keyboard.
At the launch, amongst other accessories, two docks were announced. They are pretty much the same, it’s just that one comes complete with a keyboard. These docks have the usual Apple 30-pin connector so that you sync and charge your device. They also have an audio out port so that you can properly connect up your iPad to an external audio source. These docks are sure to be a big hit, but there are also bound to be lots of other docks produced by third party manufacturers. One of the first issues that is likely to be addressed is the fact that these docks aren’t collapsible to make them portable. This is fine if you just want a home docking station, but for those who want to take their device to work this could be a limiting factor. Along with the fact that it looks like the normal Apple Bluetooth keyboard will work with the iPad, it will be down to personal preference when people decide which dock to go for.

Unfortunately, there is no laptop car mounts for Mac available that will suit the iPad at this stage. Knowing Apple though there should be something coming out soon.
