It seems like there are always occasions to give gifts. Every once in a while, there is a special occasion where giving a generic gift just won’t suffice. Once in a lifetime, events deserve to be commemorated in a special way, and what better way is there than giving engraved gifts. Engraving allows people to personalize a gift with a name, date or short written message. The message is practically indelible and the gift can be decorative or practical.
What Can Be Engraved
Anything made of metal can be engraved, and many other items can have metal plaques put on them and engraved. Some of the engraved gifts available include various jewelry items, paperweights, other desk accessories, pens, pencils, mugs and glasses and picture frames. In fact, most higher-end gifts will have an option to have them engraved, especially if you shop in the right places. Not only will the engraved item be personalized, but the engraving can function as an almost impossible to remove name tag making engraved items perfect for students and others who interact with lots of people who have stuff that looks just like their own. Even if you heart is set on giving an engraved gift, it is probably easier to decide what you want to give first, and then look for one that can be engraved.
Ideal Occasions for Engraved Gifts
As mentioned earlier, some occasions are so special that they all but require an engraved gift. Occasions like weddings, high school graduation, births, and special anniversaries or birthdays are all once-in-a-lifetime events. They should be commemorated and always remembered. The same is true for memorial gifts. The memorial should stand as a tribute to that person for as long as the item exists. Engraving makes this easy since you can put that person’s name right on the object. For happier occasions, wouldn’t it be great to help someone remember the birth of their baby with a picture frame that had the baby’s name and birth date engraved in it? What about helping a couple remember their special day with an engraved album?
There are a few things of course that you shouldn’t engrave. Cheap plastic gifts, a party bag holding favors for each guest, or anything consumable just doesn’t have the durability to let engraving make any sense. Engraved gifts are given at the events in life that are permanent, durable, and lasting.
