The Glamorous Perfume Atomizer

Sitting down at your vanity and adorning your neck with your favorite scent via a intricately cut crystal bottle using a silk tasseled bulbous pump might seem a bit over the top. Fabulous as it sounds it may be a bit over the top. However, a perfume atomizer is much more practical than this elaborate version described above.

A vintage perfume atomizer is much more extravagant than most contemporary versions. It used to be that the companies that manufactured fragrances did not utilize the spray method of applying it. The majority of the companies continued to contain their fragrances in bottles with stoppers. Women would have to purchase a perfume atomizer separately and then put the scent into it. Perhaps because of the fact that they were sold separate from the scent they were designed more intricately as a marketing technique.

It soon became evident to women that these containers were not only beautiful but they were also very practical. This method of applying took less liquid yet gave more coverage. Models were made specifically for carrying in your purse. Conventional bottles were far too heavy and cumbersome to carry in this way. It would not be long before the fragrance companies started to realize this preferred method and started to sell the scent in the spray containers.

Today you are hard pressed to find a scent not sold in a perfume atomizer. Even though some of the bottles are elegantly designed their popularity have allowed them to take on a much more practical style. Neither women nor men have to be convinced to use them anymore so the focus can be more on function than design. Fret not though, if you are still big on glamour there is still a crystal cut pump version on the market for you.
