I was a little skeptical when I first looked at this book, I got it as a present from my brother for my last birthday. 8 months later I finally picked it up and started reading it. Like most autobiographies the book begins at the beginning of the authors life. Roger was born into a typical lower class English family and got up to all the mischief that typical young boys get up to. Even this early into the book I was struck by Roger’s honesty at telling everything no matter how embarrassing it was for him.

He looks fondly back on his younger years as he recalls how full of himself he was. A budding actor trying to make his way into the big leagues, and of course enjoying all the excitement and friendships that come with being in show business. After a short stint in the army he finally made some breaks into the big leagues. This is the really fun part as we get to see behind the scenes of ‘The Saint’ and his James Bond movies, all the jokes and bloopers. Roger Moore was quite the practical joker, constantly thinking of ways to annoy his fellow cast and crew. It’s quite hard to not be jealous of such a full life.

The remainder of the book entails what he has achieved with his life post movie star days. It includes his rather large amount of work with UNICEF, becoming a knight and his family.

Overall, I was pretty impressed by this book. It really motivates you to enjoy the ride your on and follow your dreams. With a lot of persistence and a hard head, you dreams can become a little more real. It is definitely worth picking up if you pass it in a book store.
